Abstract:Vampire culture originated from Europe. With the development of globalization and mass media, vampire culture as a unique representative of western popular culture has been introduced into China and fancied by more and more Chinese young people, What’s more, Stephenie Meyer’s series novel---Twilight---and the TV series adapted from it have aroused a fever of vampire culture around the world since its publication in 2005. This paper intends to make a comprehensive study on the vampire culture from the perspective of its origin, development, characteristic and influence on modern society. The paper firstly explains the significance of the study on vampire culture. Then it systematically introduces vampire concerning its origin, legends and supernatural abilities in Twilight. The third chapter introduces the vampire culture in details from its development, dominant characteristics and its expression in literature and films. Then in the fourth chapter the paper discusses its impact on modern world. Conclusion is made in the last chapter that vampires innerly are human beings and the charm of vampire culture or vampire-related works are deeply rooted in human beings.

摘要:吸血鬼文化属于西方文化的一种，发源于欧洲。随着全球化和大众传媒的发展，吸血鬼文化也为中国人所熟知并特别受到中国年轻人的青睐。美国女作家斯蒂芬妮·梅尔2005年以来出版的《暮光之城》系列小说以及改编的同名美剧在国内和世界上都掀起了一股吸血鬼热。本文旨在浅析西方吸血鬼文化的起源，发展及时代影响。首先，简要介绍研究吸血鬼文化的必要性；其次，系统地介绍西方吸血鬼的起源，传说及其在《暮光之城》中的超自然能力；再次，阐述吸血鬼文化的发展，盛行，特性及吸血鬼元素在文学和电影中的表现；然后，概述吸血鬼文化的时代影响及意义；最后，本文得出结论归根结底吸血鬼被赋予了人性，吸血鬼文化实质上就是根植于人的文化。
