Abstract:Cultural image is one kind of image whose definition is in contrast to natural image. In the long history of all the nations, cultural image appears in allegories and art works frequently, which contains meaningful and deep imagination. Therefore, cultural image can effectively reflect the background and the history of a country. Thus, it is meaningful to study a country’s culture from its cultural image, which is an effective and relaxing way to experience a country’s cultural image from a movie. In Kung Fu Panda, the images, the Chinese kung fu, and the Chinese traditional philosophy, which hide in the words and actions of animals, reflect Chinese culture well. And Furious Five is the typical one. The Monkey, Snake, and Tiger, are three of the six wild animals in Chinese twelve zodiac. And the Mantis and Crane always appear in the famous art works and classical movies, honorable and nimble. What is more, Chinese kung fu which goes through the whole movie represent the Chinese traditional culture typically, for example, wuxi finger hold. However, what is more meaningful is the Chinese philosophy reflected by master Oogway. He loves Tai Chi so much. He advised him to live in this moment.  All of these reflect the Chinese traditional culture. Chinese ancestors inherit these Chinese traditional animals by totem, which not only reflects that human beings are in the harmony with animals, but also reflecting that Chinese ancient people treat nature with awe and respect. For thousands of years, Chinese people have been practising Chinese kung fu. People learn kung fu to boost their health and also to take over the ancestors’ intelligence. Chinese profound  philosophy always leads Chinese people to a better life.

Key words: cultural image, Chinese culture, Kung Fu Panda, philosophy
