Abstract:American hip-hop music originated in the black area of New York in the 1970s. It is a pop music with a simple melody and a fixed rhythm as the musical background, rhythmically sung. The singer uses it to express his true feelings and life status. Compared with other music, its lyrics have a strong personality, and it is a very infectious art form. Rap music is affecting a large number of social masses with its unique linguistic and cultural significance. Therefore, the study of American hip-hop culture can help reveal the interaction between social culture and popular music. This article is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the general process of the birth and development of hip-hop music. The second part analyzes the positive impact of hip-hop music on people. The third part analyzes the negative impact of hip-hop music on people.
