Abstract:This paper discusses the translation of phatic communion from the perspective of cultural differences, aiming to deepen understanding of cultural differences of phatic communion and to make translation of phatic communion more authentic based on analysis of cultural differences and relevant translation tactics.It is advisable to deal with cultural differences appropriately and to employ specific translation strategies according to different situations based on the basic principle——Functional Equivalence.This paper also aims to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding and unpleasant cultural conflicts during cross-cultural communication,thus promoting the quality of cross-cultural communication and boosting harmonious and friendly cultural exchange.
