Abstract:In recent years, researchers at home and abroad have attached great importance to the studies on effects of classroom learning. And there are various studies on effects of classroom learning both in the foreign country and in China. Howerver, most of these studies focused on effects of classroom learning on English writing, reading and listening. Therefore, this study aims to express that classroom learning also cultivates the ability of speaking. It provides a basic knowledge. In this study, the author first conducts some interviews with 30 students from Zengcheng College who had a good performance in FLTRP Cup English Speaking Contest in the year 2010 and 2011. Through these interviews we come to two conclusions: (1) classroom learning provides a basic knowledge for cultivating the ability of speaking; (2) classroom learning plays an important role when students attend FLTRP Cup English Speaking Contest. After that, the author selects three main effects of Learning on speaking and explains them in detail. Based on these findings, pedagogical implications have been made in the hope of inspiring the future teaching of oral English.

中文摘要:近些年来,课堂教学的作用受到国内外学者的重视,而这在国内也引发了一系列关于课堂教学作用的研究。然而,这些研究都局限于研究课堂教学对英语听读写能力的培养而忽略了其对口语的作用。所以,这篇论文试图找出课堂教学对口语的作用。在本次研究中,我们首先访问了30名在2010年和2011年在外研社杯英语演讲比赛中表现优秀的学生。通过分析访问结果,我们发现:(1)课堂教学为培养口语提供基本知识;(2)课堂教学在比赛中起到很大的促进作用。然后,笔者选择了课堂教学对培养口语的三个作用并作了详细说明。基于这些发现,笔者提出了相应的教学建议,希望能给未来口语教学带来启示。
