Abstract：Up to now, so many children characters were portrayed successfully both in western and eastern literature. Charles Dickens, a famous British novelist in the nineteenth century, contributed a lot to children images portraying in literature both in abroad and at home. Living in the Victoria era, as a member of the lower class, Dickens knew the miserable life of children very well at that time. He portrayed many influential characters, such as Oliver Twist and David Copperfield, which made him a great master of children images portraying. He had keen insight and precise observation, which benefited his vivid characters portraying. The children images created by Dickens were characterized in detail. Besides, he connected children’s life with the social environment closely. His humorous and solemn style of writing made his novels attractive and thought-provoking. The paper will bring you into the charm of Dickens’s children images portraying through the analysis of the background of Dickens’s works, three kinds of children images in Oliver Twist and Dickens’s writing techniques to portray children characters.
