摘要：随着我国体育体制改革的不断深入，对大众体育的研究越来越重视。自20 世纪80年代以来，特别是近几十年来，我国的竞技运动蓬勃发展，与此同时，群众体育也得到了空前发展我国政府通过积极的努力，为普通老百姓的强身健体创造了各种有利条件为使我国体育事业更好地服务于全民健身。大众体育和竞技体育不同，它的主要目的并不是提高专业运动成绩，而是以锻炼身体、增进健康、娱乐身心、和加强团结、友谊为目的，所以深受人们的喜爱。如今人们对运动和健康的关注超过了以往的任何时期，父母陪着孩子参加网球培训；年轻人走进健身房做健身操，进俱乐部跳街舞；老年人走进公园跳体育舞蹈健身秧歌都已成为时尚。仪征市大众体育在近年来发展迅速，大众体育健身场所如雨后春笋般出现在各个公园、小区、广场、景点。北京奥运会之后，更多的人希望我们的体育能够真正的回归社会、回归学校，让更多的人参与到体育运动中来，享受体育运动带来的乐趣。文章通过文献资料法、逻辑分析法等研究方法对仪征市大众体育发展现状及趋势进行研究。分析得出：仪征市大众体育发展中组织管理不够规范；体育活动场地条件亟需解决；管理法规亟待健全和完善。
