中文摘要：李克强总理在《2016年政府工作报告》中总结了2015年中国政府工作以及“十二五”规划的实施，同时介绍了2016年政府工作以及“十三五”规划，包括政治、经济、文化、医疗卫生、环境保护等各个方面。近年来中国的国际地位不断提高，政府工作报告是让世界更好地了解中国的一种方式，因此政府工作报告的英译也变得十分重要。本文以目的论为指导，从目的原则、连贯性原则和忠实性原则出发，以《2016年政府工作报告》中英译本为研究对象，分析此报告的语言特征，并结合具体实例从词汇、句子等角度研究其英译方法。本研究发现，目的论为《2016年政府工作报告》的英译提供了有效的理论依据，考虑了此报告的预期功能，结合语境，选择最恰当的翻译方法。在翻译政论文时，译者可以把目的论作为理论指导，译出高质量的文章，更好地为对政论文感兴趣的海内外读者服务。-
