Abstract: The film, a special kind of art, functions not only in education and entertainment but also in commerce. Compared with other kinds of literature works, films function more efficiently in the broadcasting in information and spreading of culture. Film is a popular art with both artistic and commercial values, is one of the most influential mass media with large quantities of English films being introduced into China. The movie title, as an important part of a film, is of informative, aesthetic and vocative functions and its translation is a challenging job. Proceeding from the features and functions of the film title, this thesis analyzes the main translation strategies applied in English film title translation from the Skopostheorie perspective.

摘要：电影，以其受众广泛，表达形式多样而在信息传播和文化交流中有着特殊的地位。电影是一种集艺术性和商业性于一体的艺术形式，是具有影响力的媒体之一。越来越多的英语电影被引入中国，促进了中西方文化交流。电影名是电影的重要组成部分，具有传达信息,表现美感和吸引观众的功能。本文从电影片名的特点和功能入手,并通过实例分析归纳了在影响英语电影片名翻译的目的论指导下的英语电影片名汉译的主要策略。
