Abstract: Metaphor is a kind of cognitive model which is fulfilled by mapping some features of a thing to that of another based on object's similarities and subject's experience. Metaphor is used almost everywhere in our daily life. This paper, grounded on the theory of conceptual metaphors, analyzes how conceptual metaphors, one of the most widely used parts of metaphors, are applied to English and Chinese economic news. Two common metaphors are given as the typical examples from cognitive perspective. This paper is aimed at helping common people to better understand abstract economic concepts in English and Chinese news.

摘要：隐喻是在客体相似性和主体经验的基础上，通过映射用一种事物的某些特征去理解另一不同范畴事物特征的一种认知方式。隐喻无处不在。本文在概念隐喻理论的基础上，分析了隐喻中使用最广泛的一种，概念隐喻在英汉经济新闻中的应用。本文从认知的角度分析了两种最常见的概念隐喻，旨在帮助人们更好地理解英汉经济新闻中的抽象经济概念。
