Abstract: D.H. Lawrence (David Herbert Lawrence) is an important and controversial British writer of the 20th century, known as one of the greatest men in English literature. He writes a large number of great works. One of his most popular novels, Sons and Lovers, is an autobiographical account of his youth. This novel is about the life of the Morels. Mrs. Morel is a main character and is also the focus of critics. Firstly, the thesis presents her tragic destiny from three aspects: an unhappy housewife, a distorted mother, and a failure of domestic life; and then it demonstrates the reasons of her tragic destiny through social reasons and personal reasons. After analyzing Mrs. Morel’s tragic destiny, it can be concluded that patriarchy is the essential reason, others are incentives.

摘要：劳伦斯是20世纪一位重要且富有争议的英国作家，被认为是英国文学最伟大的人物之一。他一生写了很多著作，其中最受欢迎的一本小说就是《儿子与情人》。这是一部有关他的自传小说。这本小说主要讲述了莫瑞尔一家人的生活。其中莫瑞尔夫人是文中一位主要的人物，同时也是评论界的焦点人物。本文首先从一个不快乐的家庭主妇，病态的母亲，家庭生活的失败者三个方面来展现她的悲剧命运，然后从社会和个人两大方面来分析她悲剧命运的主要成因。从分析她的悲剧命运，可以得出父权制是她悲剧命运的根本原因，其他几个都是诱因。
