Abstract: This thesis aims to study how to apply the theory of multiple intelligence (MI for short) to elementary school English teaching. The paper is based on the MI theory put forward by Howard Gardner in 1983. By designing concrete teaching activities, the author points out the advantages of applying the MI theory to elementary school English teaching, and some suggestions about the application. The conclusion of this thesis is that the MI theory can arouse pupils’ interest in English learning, improve the pupils’ comprehensive qualities, and increase both the pupils’ learning efficiency and the teaching efficiency of English lessons.

摘要: 本文旨在研究多元智能理论对小学英语教学的启示,它以加德纳1983年提出的多元智能理论为理论基础。作者通过具体教学活动的设计,指出了多元智能理论在小学教学中运用的优势并且提出了一些注意方面。文章的结论是在小学英语教学中,多元智能理论的运用能够激发学生学习英语的兴趣,提高学生的综合素质,以及实现课堂教学效率和学生学习效率的同步提高。
