从《红楼梦》两译本看汉译英的文化差异和不可译性_英语论文.docx

摘要:随着全球化的发展，国际社会越来越像一个地球村。在这种大背景下，各国之间的经济文化交流极为频繁。与此同时，为适应我国文化走出去的需要，国内名著的英译就显得尤为重要，其对于中国传统文化传播的现实意义也变得更加突出。

国内名著首先作为我国文学作品中的结晶，有着极其重要的地位。其次，要想让外国文明接受中国文化甚至喜爱之，那么中国名著的英译就起着至关重要的作用。在此过程中，中西方文化的差异对交流造成了一定的困难。这种文化差异首先造成了中西方国家人民的意识形态的不同，其次，就对我国的名著英译过程造成了不可避免的影响。

此论文以《红楼梦》的杨宪益和霍克斯的英译本为例，研究汉英文化差异对《红楼梦》英译的影响，与此同时举例说明《红楼梦》在英译过程中的不可译性及其解决办法。

Abstract:Recently, international community is like a global village with the development of the globalization. Under this background, the communication among countries in different culture backgrounds becomes frequent. Meanwhile, to adapt to the need of culture going out, translating Chinese classical works into English is of a great importance, which has a practical significance to spread the Chinese civilization. 

Firstly, as the fruit of Chinese literature, classical novels have an important status. Secondly, to assure the novels being accepted even loved in the western countries, translating the book into English has a significant responsibility. However, the differences between the oriental and occidental cultures are regarded as the biggest problem to the communication. The cultural differences cause the conflict in the people’s ideology, and then the impact to the translation. 

Based on the two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, the influence made by cultural differences to the translation is researched to illustrate the problem of untranslatability in A Dream of Red Mansions and its solutions.
