Abstract:This paper mainly discusses the application of sense and reference of linguistics in the reportages. In the developing trend of information age, information exchange between people has become faster and more frequent, and more and more convenient. At the same time, the coverage of information is also more extensive. In daily life, reportages are the most basic way for people to receive information. Language is the main way and the most important communication tool for human beings to communicate. People use language to preserve and convey the achievements of human civilization. By exploring the application of the sense and reference in reportages, this paper tries to make readers understand the meaning and function of the sense and reference of Linguistics and the connotation of sense and reference in news reporting from another angle; at the same time, it is to use a new perspective to understand news reporting literature and finally plays a possible role to help the news and linguistics and journalism are more likely to be understood. It also enables readers to live a fuller life and try to avoid unnecessary misuse of meaning and reference in news reports.
